The Republic of Congo will host its first Congo Energy & Investment Forum (CEIF) in Brazzaville from March 24–26, 2025, led by President Denis Sassou Nguesso and supported by the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and national oil company SNPC.
The event brings together project developers, investors, and policymakers to drive energy sector growth through direct collaboration, policy discussions, and deal-making.
A central focus is the debut of Congo’s Gas Master Plan, which outlines strategies to develop the country’s untapped gas reserves, attract infrastructure investments such as pipelines and gas-to-power projects and establish Congo as a regional gas hub. Alongside this, the government will introduce a new oil and gas licensing round for onshore, offshore, and marginal fields, targeting a doubling of oil production to 500,000 barrels daily by 2027 with participation from global energy firms and local operators.
Congo also plans to create a national gas company to consolidate existing assets, improve sector efficiency, and draw foreign investment.
Technical workshops and panel discussions at the forum will address renewable energy integration, infrastructure modernization, and regulatory frameworks, with case studies on projects like hydropower expansions and carbon capture technologies.
Attendees, including energy executives, investors, and government representatives, will engage in networking to advance partnerships and investment opportunities. The forum reflects Congo’s broader effort to diversify its oil-reliant economy, tackle infrastructure challenges, and leverage gas as a transitional energy source amid global shifts toward cleaner energy systems.
