Club BTP & CMA – RDC, has signed a training pact with Kamoa Copper S.A., operator of hashtagIvanhoe hashtagMines’ flagship copper complex on the nation’s southern frontier.
The deal marries the club’s classroom network with Kamoa’s cash and curriculum demands, creating what both sides say is the country’s first industry-funded certification track built to international standards.
The programme dovetails with the government’s push for value-addition in minerals and local content in contracts, policies that have raised compliance costs for foreign operators but also opened doors for service providers. Construction and metalworking account for roughly 12 % of the DRC’s non-mineral GDP, according to the central bank.
